How to find us

By Plane:

La Rochelle airport (Ryanair, Flybe and Airlinair - sometimes Air LIngus and Jet 2.com)  - 1 hr 15 minute drive to La Rose des Vents

Bordeaux airport  (flights all year with BA,  KLM, and seasonal with  Ryan Air, BMI, Flybe and Easyjet  - 1 hr 45 minutes drive

Poitiers airport is a 2 hour drive.

Car hire is available at all airports

By car ferry or Euro tunnel:

Take the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo and arrive at La Rose des Vents  4 hours 30minutes later (with virtually no motorwaya tolls!) 

Alternatively, cross from Dover to Calais or Boulogne, the drive will be about 7 hours or so, depending upon your speed and the number of stops you would like to make.

By Train:

Travel to Angouleme via Lille on the Eurostar and TGV (bookable as one journey with Rail Europe - good discounts when booked at least 4 weeks in advance).  Car hire is available at the station in Angouleme and La Rose des Vents is 40 minutes drive away.

From the A10:

Leave the A10 at Junction 34 and join the D939 direction St Jean d'Angely.   Keep on the D939 direction Matha and Angouleme. At Matha, again keep on the D939 (bypass).  At the roundabout with the D121, take the D121 direction Cognac.   After Thors, you will find La Tacherie in 1 km.
