GARDENS AND GROUNDS

Extensive gardens are a feature of La Rose des Vents with sunny patios and shady corners.

The cottages are located on opposite sides of the gardens, have their own private gardens and walled courtyards offering complete privacy and tranquility within 2.5 acres of gated grounds.

Both cottages have sole use of the 11 x 5.5 metre heated swimming pool (28 degrees between April – beginning of October) sited in the organic orchard with views over the vineyards. The orchard is accessed via monumental gates and the pool is alarmed to ensure the safety of little ones.

Large grassed area for ball games and badminton, swing ball and boules are available on site.

Bring your own tennis racquets, as guests have access to the tennis courts in the commune at no extra charge.

Undercover parking to keep the cars cool in summer.

Guests are invited to help themselves to the apples, pears, plums, damsons, greengages, figs, cherries and herbs growing in the organic orchard and gardens.

DISABLED ACCESS  AND ACCESS TO SERVICES

Rose Cottage  has one ground floor double bedroom, with an ensuite shower room which is useful for guests who have problems climibing stairs.   There is a shallow step between the kitchen and the sitting room.

However, neither of the cottages are suitable for guests with physical disabilities as there are no shower/bathrooms with grab rails, or  walk in showers.  The doors are not wide enough for wheelchair access.  Further, the gravel drives make it difficult for wheelchair users.

Although located in a quiet hamlet surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields, it is a 5 minute drive to the full range of shops and 3 supermarkets in the market town of Matha, and Cognac is only 15 minutes away.

We do not have an electric charging point on site, but there is a charging point in Rue Andre Brugerolle in Matha  (5 mins drive)

The local bread van delivers to your door each morning.

You can visit a market every day of the week in one  of the many nearby towns and villages.

......and you can sample the local cuisine in a range of restaurants from open air cafes to gourmet restaurants within 5 - 15 minutes drive.

PLEASE NOTE

For the comfort of our guests, especially those who may suffer from allergies we do not accept pets in our cottages , but if you are missing your own furry friends you can always have a cuddle with one of our kit cats.

….. and finally to help you settle in, there is a welcome folder brimming with ideas on places to visit to suit all the family, Cognac and wine tastings, restaurants to try, supermarket opening times and local markets and brochures supplied by the Tourist Office.
